According to a CYCLE WORLD magazine article I read a couple years back, the average motorcyclist rides about 2600 miles per year. That's the average, so for everyone out there that rides a lot of miles - say 15,000 miles or more, there's a dozen guys who only ride a thousand miles.
Take the '77 KZ650 I bought about 6 weeks ago: the guy I bought it from was the original owner. In 23 years he'd rode it about 33,000 miles, so only 1400 miles a year. The guy told me he took it on the road only on sunny weekends for rides around Vancouver Island.
Since I bought it I have only rode it about 300 miles - but that will change in about 10 days...
